Comfortable Silence

Being with someone and being alone at the same time. Enjoying someone else’s company, immersed in your own thoughts. You’re not physically alone, you don’t feel alone or lonely, it’s not isolating or awkward.

It’s a comfortable silence you can share with someone else. I think you can truly be with someone if you can enjoy their company and not need to fill the space with words. It’s an interconnectedness, an energy, and it’s unique between everyone.

To be comfortable in silence is to be comfortable just existing by someone’s side. There isn’t always a need for words or communication, sometimes it’s innate that a connection is there, and you don’t even need to try.
