You can do anything if you put your mind to it, your world will match your will. Things that don’t seem possible never will be, until you change the way you think about them. I’ve learned that the only thing ever stopping me from getting what I want is myself. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances are, what other people say, how others think – you are the only one who will ever have control over your reality.
That might just sound like wishful thinking, and for some people it always will be. Not because only some of us are strong enough to control our world, but not all of us believe we can.
I remember the day I was told I would never be able to drive. I was around 10 years old at the time, and although I’m sure I had heard this before, this particular time it really sunk in. I cried, and those feelings haunted me for years. Despite being very upset about being told I would never do the one thing I suddenly wanted more than anything, I didn’t believe it.
Since then I’ve done everything I can to make my situation better. I moved to the city a few times because I value my freedom so much. I thought it would make things better, but it really didn’t. when I was 21 I was finally about to get my G1. I remember this day, because I felt like I could do absolutely anything.
But I didn’t start to drive until I was 23. It wasn’t until two and a half years later that I had the courage to get behind a wheel and learn. Because although I didn’t believe the doctors for telling me I would never drive, I didn’t entirely believe myself that I could do it either. When I was finally ready I began to learn to drive.
You can truly do anything you set you mind to, no matter how big or small your goal. We all have fears and limiting beliefs, and if you listen there will always be someone to tell you that you can’t. But you don’t have to listen. You can be anyone, go anywhere, do anything – you are your only limit.
